Parc National Des Volcans (PNV)

This park is situated in northwestern part of Rwanda almost 5000 feet with magnificent mountain ranges, steep slopes, and swamp heath, rich mosaic montane ecosystems with evergreen and bamboo forest. The evergreen rain forest is famous for the rare mountain gorillas.

Apart from the mountain gorillas, the foothills of the virungas offer wonderful exhilarating trekking and scenic views in all directions. As you enter the rain forest their various calls of coloutful bird’s species in the park, the rare golden monkeys, some populations of buffaloes and elephant.

The activity of gorilla trekking begins at 7:00am with ameeting at kinigi offices. Hiking Mt.Bisoke and Mt.Karisimbi is accessible through the cultivated foothills. You need to be physically fit and healthy because the walk is quite long.

Trekking the habituated rare golden monkey, nature walk to enjoy the warm climate of the high altitude and visiting the Dian Fossey Tomb at the old karisoke who spent a lot of her time studying and researching about gorillas.
